Not Your Usual Suspects
How to identify a neuroendocrine cancer when it's not part of the typical line-up
This free, online course is an RNZCGP-endorsed CPD activity approved for 4 CME credits. It features commentary from Neuroendocrine Cancer New Zealand's medical advisor Dr Ben Lawrence (Medical Oncologist, Auckland).
Participants experience an interactive, real patient case-based online programme that boosts knowledge and confidence in diagnosing and treating neuroendocrine tumours in general practice.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Discuss the pathophysiology and epidemiology of neuroendocrine tumours (NETs)
- Outline the symptoms of NETs
- Describe appropriate investigations and diagnostic pathways for patients with suspected NETs
- Outline pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment options for NETs and their appropriate clinical application
- Using a multidisciplinary team, formulate a whole-person approach to the management of patients with NETs
Neuroendocrine Cancer New Zealand is grateful to our sister organisation Neuroendocrine Cancer Australia for access to this course.
