Matched Giving Month
Every gift to Neuroendocrine Cancer New Zealand this November is matched, dollar for dollar. Give, fundraise, or simply help one more person know what neuroendocrine cancer is.
The match starts on Sunday 1 November. A gift before then is just as welcome, and is not matched.

I accepted these changes as part of getting older, never imagining they were being caused by two tumours growing inside me.”
Give once. It arrives twice.
From 1 November to the end of the month, every gift is matched, dollar for dollar. Your half supports patients and whānau; the matched half funds research here in Aotearoa.

Why the research half matters
Peter has Merkel cell carcinoma, a rare neuroendocrine cancer of the skin. The treatment he needs is funded in Australia and not here. His film was made with 25 other patient organisations, and it is two minutes long.
Watch Peter’s filmMeet the researchers the matched half supports at the NET Research Showcase, Thursday 19 November, 3pm–5pm in Auckland. An open afternoon, and patients and whānau are welcome.
A cancer most people have never heard of
Every day, someone in New Zealand is told they have a cancer most people have never heard of. More than 400 New Zealanders are diagnosed each year, on average five years after their first symptoms. Until then, the signs are often put down to more familiar things: irritable bowel, menopause, anxiety, asthma.
For many, the diagnosis is the explanation they have spent years searching for.
Suspect. Detect.
World NET Cancer Day falls on Tuesday 10 November, and this year's theme is Suspect. Detect. The more of us who know this cancer, the sooner the next person gets their answer and the right treatment.
So we are building a whole month around it: our first ever Matched Giving Month. Every gift this November is matched, dollar for dollar, thanks to the generous supporters of a new initiative for long-term NET cancer research, launched in memory of our late trustee Dr Malcolm Legget.
November also brings our first NET Research Day, on Thursday 19 November. The afternoon Research Showcase is free and open to patients and whānau.
Fundraising pages
Set up your own page and ask the people who know you to give. Gifts through it are matched like any other.
More ways to be part of it
Money is one way in, not the only one. Every one of these helps somebody find us sooner.

Give
One-off or monthly. Every gift during November is matched, so $50 arrives as $100.
Hold a fundraiser
A bake sale, a brunch, a walk. Set up your own page in a few minutes, and gifts through it are matched.
Got an idea?
Not sure where to start, or have an idea you would like a hand with? Tell us and we will work it out with you.
Share your story
A minute on your phone is enough. Stories are how other people recognise their own symptoms.
Learn the symptoms
Know the signs and pass them on. If your GP would like to know more, there is a free course endorsed by the RNZCGP.
